Machine Embroidery
Seminar:
March 13th,
10AM-12PM. Join the staff at
Frank’s Sewing Center for this informative seminar. Topics to be
covered are Embroidery Interactives, thread, stabilizers, and
templates. Bring your questions! Cost:$10

Join One of our Clubs!
Embroidery Club meets every
other month on the 4th
Wed at 1 or 6. Each session of Embroidery Club is full of embroidery
designs, projects and ideas that can be used on garments, home dec,
kid’s stuff and more. You will receive full color direction sheets
for several projects as well as original designs on a diskette in your
particular machine's format. During this fun lecture-demo class, you
will also learn helpful hints on embroidering and hooping techniques,
stabilizers, marking and new products. Bring your own projects for
“show and tell” and there’s always a chance to win a door prize. Join
in anytime! It is led by Patty Otto. Cost is $20. Dates for the rest
of this year are: Mar 31, May 26, July 28, Sept 22 and Dec 1.
Serger Club also meets every other month on the first Thursday at
6:30. A different serger technique or project is featured each time.
Bring show and tell. It is hosted by Wendy Rieves. Cost is $5. Dates:
Feb 4, March 25 (note date change), June 3, Sept 2, Nov 4
Sewing Club is held the first
Saturday of every month from 10 to 12. Different topics relating to
sewing and embroidery are presented by members. They love to see your
show and tell items! This is a free club!
Block of the Month Club Watch
for sign up for our new Block of the Month to start In September. Our
current one is ending soon. The first meeting of the new BOM will be
September 10 & 14.
Classes:
Machine Needle Felting Class: Spring Beauty or Snow Removal by
Experts. Bring your Baby Lock Embellisher or rent one from the
instructor. In this class you will have your choice of making two
different projects. The kit for the class will include all your wool
supplies to make these beautiful wall hangings. Come and see the
samples in our classroom. They are amazing! Date: Feb 18th
10-4 or Feb 27th
from 10-4. Class fee: $35. Kit fee is $42 for Snow Removal, and $60
for Spring Beauty. Instructor is Isabella Hoffman.
Reversible Quilt as You Go Table
Runner: Learn this easy technique and make a contemporary table
runner at the same time! Date: Feb 25 and March 11, from 9:30 to
12:00. Cost $30. Instructor is Pam See. Pattern required
Basic Serger: Let’s use your
serger to the max! Learn how to adjust your serger for the best
stitch. Learn a balanced overlock, flatlock and rolled edge stitch
along with some easy shortcuts. The use of regular serger thread and
decorative thread will be taught. Dates: April 7,14,21 from 1-3:30
Cost is $55. The instructor is Joan Gapinski.
Sewing Shortcuts:
Learn the
sewing efficiencies factories use to produce garments, home dec, and
accessory items. We will learn the steps as we create samples that
you can refer to during your future sewing projects (and you can apply
in class on an optional tote). March 16 or May 8, 9:30-12:30. Cost is
$30. Instructor is Kristi Mirocha.
Lone Star Quilt:
Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and
forget everything you know about making a Lone Star quilt.
Now imagine a new method that has no angles to measure and no
templates. And imagine that this amazing technique gives you perfect
corner matching and nice flat sections. Oh yes, imagine fast and easy,
too. Quiltsmart interfacing is used.
Class is 2 sessions, April 10, 24 9:30-1:30. Cost is $30. The
Instructor is Caren Zimmerman
Electric Quilt: Join Wendy with your laptop and she will go over
the basics of Electric Quilt. Learn how to design your own quilts,
print out fabric yardage, make templates, design labels for your
quilts and so much more. The software can be ordered through Frank’s.
Date: March 24th
from 9-3. Cost is $35. Instructor is Wendy Rieves
Snowflakey Friends: See what
happens when you combine quilting and machine embroidery to make
appliqué snowflakes and snowman faces. Start it now and it will be all
ready to hang for next winter! Date: March 27th
9:30 to 3. Cost: $40. Pattern required. Instructor is
Pam See.
EZ Tote: This bag can be made
with recycled jeans or with new fabric. Pam has some great ideas for
how to put in piping and how to use some of those decorative stitches
on your sewing machine! Date: April 15 9:30 to 1:30. Cost: $20.
Pattern required. Instructor is Pam See.
Free Motion Quilting: In this
class, students will learn how to drop the feed dogs and sail into
free motion quilting. Unmarked patterns will be shown as well as how
to use a stencil for quilting. Students are asked to bring a quilt to
use as part of a discussion on where to put quilting. Date: Feb 22nd
from 6-9, or April 17th
from10-1. Cost is $25. Instructor is Wendy Rieves.
Beginning Quilting
with Diann:
Make
an easy log cabin quilt. This is a very popular quilt pattern. Skills
to be taught include fabric selection, rotary cutting, strip quilting,
simple block matching, border construction, and basic machine
quilting. Dates: May 3,10,17,24 from 6-8:30 Cost is $55
T-shirt Quilt: Are you looking
for the perfect graduation gift for someone special? A t-shirt quilt
is a great way to showcase life’s memories. (and get all those
t-shirts out of the drawer!) Date: March 3 and 17 from 6-8:30. Cost:
$40. The instructor is Wendy Rieves
Beginning Sewing: Learn some
basic sewing knowledge and make a pair of comfy lounge pants or
another simple pattern of your choice. The class is designed for
students ages 14 to adult. Date: March 22, 29 and April 12th from
5:30-7:30 pm. Cost: $45. Instructor is Wendy Rieves
Block of the Month Work Day.
If you have been in this year’s block of the month with Wendy (or any
other year and don’t have it finished!) and need some help getting it
done or you just need the work time. This class is for you. Date:
March 14 (Sunday) from 12-6. Cost: $25. Instructor is Wendy Rieves
Beginning Appliqué with Diann:
Learn the basics of appliqué while making this simple project. Date:
June 19 from 9:30 to 12PM. Cost: $25 which includes all materials.

Sign up early as classes fill quickly!
You may register for classes at the store, or by phone (262) 547-7774.
Payment must be made at the time of registration. If you wish to
register by telephone, please have your credit card ready. Most
classes require a minimum of four (4) students. Supply lists should be
picked up at the store. We would appreciate it if you purchase your
supplies at Frank’s. We will be happy to assist you in gathering all
the necessary materials, and give you a 20% discount! You must cancel
at least two (2) weeks in advance to receive a refund. No credit for
no-shows. Classes may be added or changed based on availability and
demand. We look forward to having you in class! You also receive a 20%
discount on any purchases made the day of your class.
